A Great Time This Morning on Daytime Chicago
9/23/2021 2:41:28 PM
"You set the record on Saturday, we'll talk about it on Monday."

From Tonya Francisco's lips to many dog owners' ears--those were the concluding remarks from the WGN-TV Daytime Chicago co-host who interviewed two of our leaders on Thursday morning, F.U.N. Commission chair Leslie Allison-Seei and member Tracy Gabriel.
Stealing the show, of course, were Bentley and Boo, who will soon be among the hundreds of dogs getting married on Saturday as we pursue the new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS record in the category of Largest Wedding Ceremony.
Thank you to everyone at Daytime Chicago for helping us get the word out as we are now only two days away from the big day!

Visit https://www.pawsandclawsvp.com/Register to register, which is $25--with all the proceeds gong to animal rescue groups that will be at the event, Paws & Claws in the Park, here in Villa Park's Lion Park.
Registration is also available on-site Saturday morning. To see our appearance on Daytime Chicago, click here.
Raise the Woof for Steve Dale, Our Event Emcee!
9/18/2021 5:25:23 PM

We are thrilled to announce that Steve Dale will be the emcee for our event!

A certified animal behavior consultant (CABC), Steve has reached more pet owners over the past few decades than any other journalist in America!

Steve is the host of two nationally syndicated radio shows, Steve Dale’s Pet World and The Pet Minute (together heard on more than 100 radio stations, syndicated Black Dog Radio Productions, since 2005).

He’s also a special contributor at WGN Radio in Chicago, and program host of Steve Dale’s Pet World (since 1997), and host of Steve Dale’s Other World (2020). He formerly

hosted the national broadcast Animal Planet Radio.

Let’s raise the woof for Steve, who will also be interviewing The Dogmother of Villa Park (and F.U.N. Commission Chairperson) Leslie Allison-Seei on Sunday, Sept. 19th, around 12:30 p.m.!

Tune in to WGN Radio (720 AM) to drop in on their conversation.

Will Sammy Paws Find Love?
9/18/2021 12:24:31 PM

Will Sammy Paws find love in time for the Largest Dog Wedding Ceremony next Saturday? One way for you to find out is to be on hand yourself---and possibly with Sammy's partner! (There is a speed-dating component, after all.)

Meantime, be sure to tune in to an interview happening tomorrow--Sunday, Sept. 19th, at about 12:30 p.m. That is when Leslie Allison-Seei, the Villa Park Community F.U.N. Commission chair, is interviewed by Steve Dale on WGN Radio.

Set your dial to 720 AM, and you can also listen here online.

And later in the week, on Thursday, Sept. 23rd, we will be appearing on Daytime Chicago, a new hour-long WGN-TV lifestyle show that will feature the big event coming up next weekend.

Momentum and excitment are building. Want to be a part of it? One way is to register here. You and your furry friend can be part of Guinness World Record history!

More Front Page News: The Villa Park Review
9/10/2021 12:16:05 PM

Thanks to The Villa Park Review for its front-page treatment of our Guinness World Record attempt coming up on Saturday, September 25th. Their headline: A World Record in Villa Park? See the piece here online.

Two weeks from tomorrow, we look forward to turning that question mark into an exclamation point. In the same words (but other punctuation): A World Record in Villa Park!

We are also thrilled to announce that on Thursday, September 23rd, the dog wedding will be featured on a new hour-long WGN-TV lifestyle show called Daytime Chicago!

Stay tuned for more details as soon as they become available.

Of course, this is a team sport--we can't do it alone. Rather than a dog-eat-dog world, we are creating a dog-meet-dog moment that will push all who participate over the top and into the status of Guinness World Records holder.

Be a part of that history and register your dog today!

Daily Herald Features Our Event
8/30/2021 2:06:08 PM

On Saturday, September 25th, we will be making headline news near and far. That is the day of  our Paws & Claws in the Park event, which is also our Guinness World Records' Official Attempt in the category of Largest Dog Wedding Ceremony.

Meantime, buzz is building both on the grassroots level as well as in the media--take, for example, this past Sunday's Daily Herald coverage. As reporter Scott C. Morgan noted in the story, this event is not for Villa Park residents only, or DuPage County residents only. It's for anyone and everyone who chooses to come join us.

An excerpt from the story:

"It is not just about Villa Park. This is for all of DuPage and all of the surrounding areas," said F.U.N. commission member Tracy Gabriel at the meeting. "Anybody that has a dog."

Because the Daily Herald has six zoned editions, stories appear in some zones, but not others, or in different ways across the various geographic scope of the foremost suburban Chicago paper.

In our case, that meant at least three different layouts, with a mix of photographs as well as headlines: "One for the History Books" and "Puppy Love." In the photo with this story to the left, you can see our fearless leader, The Dogmother of Villa Park herself, Leslie Allison-Seei, along with other F.U.N. Commission members. Here's the caption:

Villa Park Community F.U.N. (Focus on Unifying Neighbors) Commission members, from left, are Kathy Halloran (with Duke Dunkin O’Halloran), Eliza Diederich (with “The Brack Man”), Mary Hintze & "The Dogmother of Villa Park," Leslie Allison-Seei (with Boo).

Here on Monday, the second-to-last day of these dog days of August, the countdown is at 26 days before this festive, fun occasion. Won't you join us in this headline- and history-making adventure? All registration fees will go to the animal rescue groups at the event -- register your pooch here!
